Iqra National University and Sarhad University of Science and information Technology are the joint organizers of International Conference on advances in Civil and Environmental Engineering (ICACE 2016). The two universities are pioneer private sector universities recognized by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and accredited and regulated by Pakistan Engineering Council. The Conference is one of its kind in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan, giving an avenue to local engineers and researchers a platform to present their most recent research work in the field of civil and environmental engineering.
Among all engineering fields, Civil Engineering discipline is the most far reaching discipline. From infrastructure design and development to material properties, from water engineering to fuel exploration, civil end environmental engineering affects and touch the lives of people like no other discipline of engineering can. Pakistan, a developing country with slowly progressing economy, civil engineering discipline plays even more important role. The unique location of Pakistan ensures that diverse set of problems present themselves to engineers. From geotechnical issues of slope stability to variability in amount of available water in temporal and spatial dimensions, from structural design issues of thousands of kilometers of road network in diverse topography to structural analysis of multistorey buildings in earthquake prone zones, the issues are complex, current and interesting.
The first joint International conference on advances in civil and environmental engineering by Iqra National University (INU) and Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology (SUIT) would provide a platform for engineers and scientists to present their research to diverse audience. The topics of Conference are detailed in the topic section.
