Scope of Pharmacy

Upon completing the Pharm.D degree, graduates have a plethora of career opportunities both within Pakistan and internationally. In the realm of Pharmaceutical Practice, they can work in community pharmacies, hospitals, clinical settings, and retail pharmacies. In Academics, pharmacists can engage in teaching, pursue higher education such as M. Phil., Ph. D., or Postdoctoral studies, and contribute to research.

The Pharmaceutical Industry offers roles in production, quality assurance, quality control, research and product development, regulatory affairs, and sales and marketing. Government sector positions include regulatory appointments at the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), roles as drug inspectors, drug controllers, purchasing and distribution officers, positions within military services, and analysts in drug testing laboratories.

Internationally, pharmacists can pursue opportunities in countries like Australia (PBA, AHPRA), Canada (PEBC), the UK (GPC, OSPAP), the USA (NAPLEX, MPJE, FPGEC, FPGEE), KSA & UAE (MOH), among others. Additionally, they can work with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), engage in pharmaceutical business ventures (import-export), or offer pharmaceutical consultancy services. The scope of pharmacy is vast and continually evolving, offering promising and diverse career paths for graduates.
